Concrete pavers come in a wide variety of shapes, texture and colors. Most are designed to look like stone or cobbles. Some look like old fashioned bricks and some are at a larger scale resembling the choice you would have for indoor tile or stone.

Pavers are a good alternative to concrete which avoids the risk of cracking which is inherent in poured concrete. Another advantage is that pavers can be replaced or added onto later on if needed.

Pavers are designed to be placed on a compacted aggregate base. Some pavers are thinner designed to be used as an “overlay” to go on top of old concrete patios. There are also “renovation pavers” designed to go over the top of an old pool deck and coping.
